Refund of fees - 25/05/11

Reduced Fees - Early Registration Deadline Extended to 24 May

New! – Refund Conditions

In order to benefit from the reduced full entry fee of £80 (£40 for first-time competitors), please ensure you register and pay by midnight on 24 May 2011. Internet transfer is the preferred method, but if you send a cheque, please do not send later than 24 May to allow for clearing before the event. For full details on fees, see the fees section of the website here.

Refunds

  • In the unlikely event that no competition flying is possible, then a refund of entry fees (minus a £20 charge to contribute towards costs) will be given to pilots.*
  • Unless seriously adverse conditions prevent it, the trade show will still continue as planned.
  • In the extremely unlikely event that severe weather forecasts force us to cancel the event altogether before arriving on site, then a full refund will be made to all pilots.

* This covers approximately a third of the basic site costs. The remainder would be paid from the reserve built up for this purpose.

We hope the extension and refund conditions encourage you to take advantage of the reduced fees for early registration and look forward to seeing you there.

Mobile Phones - 25/05/11

If pilots wish to be able to use the SMS Task Cancellation system, they will need a basic mobile phone with no GPS and no triangulation capability.

If you don't already have a suitable mobile, they can be picked up cheaply online.

The SMS Task Cancellation system enables the Comp Director to inform pilots if he should decide to cancel a task after some or all pilots have taken off. It would only be used if weather conditions should deteriorate and he believes it may be unsafe to continue the task. If the pilots know a task has been cancelled, they won't feel any pressure to continue in borderline conditions.

All of this aside, it is still the individual pilot's responsibility to make his/her own decisions about launching or landing at all times during the competition.

Record Attempt - 19/08/11

Indigo furniture have become a major sponsor of the competition and would like to put their name to a record attempt.

Last year we wanted to attempt the mnon competition pilots off the ground at the same time as a nav task making the job a lot

easier. If you are interested in taking part in the attempt please gost number of PPG/trike/HG pilots in the air but unfortunately ran out of time.

So this year we  hope to get all et in touch at. natsppgsecretary@live.co.uk

UK Record Attempt

Despite the weather we managed to run the record attempt for the most paramotorist in the air in UK at the same time. 74 pilots.
A personal message from one of our main sponsors - Indigo Furniture. We plan to upload certificates shortly.
Indigo Furniture are proud to be one of the main sponsors for the National Paramotor Championships 2011. When Richard first mentioned the idea we jumped at the chance, it is our opportunity to give something back to the sport that is our passion. We really enjoy the PPG Comps and this year we were keen to increase our support and involvement. We became a main sponsor and then came the mention of the record attempt... We offered our support without delay. The outcome was great and we hope we can build on it year on year, taking it from a British record to a world record. We’d like to say a big thank you to all participants.  The biggest thank you is to all the organisers/volunteers/marshalls without whom the whole event wouldn’t happen - you are the ones who deserve all the thanks, you are so selfless you don’t even have time to fly. We flew, watched the events, chatted to old friends, made new friends and had one amazing time. As for sponsorship next year, just you try and stop us. And of course, we are totally chuffed to have had our banner so prominent behind the podium - that really is the icing on the cake! Thank you, and here’s hoping for many future years of successful PPG Comps. Miles Gregory, Indigo Furniture
